This class takes the basic fire-by-friction methods taught in our beginner survival skills clinic and expands with new techniques and advanced scenarios including a “no knife, no modern tools” fire drill. It is an excellent opportunity to work with our instructors on advancing your survival knowledge as well as applying these skills without the use of modern tools.
*1-Day Advanced Fire Class: $99
Held in the redwoods of the Santa Cruz Mountains, our advanced fire-by-friction clinic takes the foundational knowledge from our beginner class and expands it to more highly refined skills and extreme situations. Hand drill fire-by-friction is introduced (this method is not covered or demonstrated at all in the beginner class), and more difficult scenarios for bow-drill fire are practiced including all wild-harvested materials and no knife use.
You must have taken our 1-day intro class to take this course – no exceptions. This course is fast-paced and relies heavily on the skills taught in the level 1 class. Additionally, we do recommend (though do not require) that you have taken our immersion overnight program or undergone a minimum of 40 hours of self-study on the fire topics introduced at the Level 1 class. Take a day for yourself and reconnect with the amazing natural opportunities we have in Northern California while learning ancient skills that could save your life!

This program is booked on a private/semi-private basis only – we do not have public class dates available. Form your own group and contact us to set up a date.

Prerequisites/Requirements:
-MUST have taken our Wilderness Skills & Survival Clinic. Students who have completed at least 40 hours of self-study on the topics taught in the Level 1 class may skip the Immersion Overnight requirement.
