Q: I don’t have a car, do you offer rideshares or is there public transportation to Pacifica?
Q: Are there any hotels in the area?
Q: Where do we meet for the class?
A: Our surf classes meet at the south end of the main beach parking lot (Lot A) of Pacifica State Beach (just on the north side of Taco Bell – yes there is a Taco Bell right on the sand). There is no exact address, but it is just south of the intersection of Hwy 1 an Crespi Drive in Pacifica (94044). Here is a map:http://bit.ly/dgm24k. Parking is available for a fee on-site – currently $5 for 0-4 hours, $9 for all day (subject to change by discretion of City).
Q: What time should I arrive for my class?
A: Please arrive 10 minutes before the start time of your class (example: 8:50am or earlier for a 9:00am class)
Q: Do I need to remit payment at the class site?
A: No, if you’ve registered online, your credit card has been charged and you are paid. GRATUITIES: Our instructors work very hard and do accept gratuities. Typical gratuity rates are 10-20% of your class fee.
Q: I don’t have a car, do you offer rideshares or is there public transportation to Pacifica?
A: If you will not have a car, we are happy to help organize a rideshare with other students and we are usually successful at finding rides for most students. Or, get a ride from Lyft! Adventure Out has partnered with Lyft to get new users a ride credit towards your first ride (credit amount varies with Lyft monthly promotions and can range from $5-$25). -There is also public transit available to the beach:
-From anywhere in the San Francisco Bay Area, take the BART train (www.bart.gov) to Daly City
-At Daly, you will switch to the SamTrans bus (www.samtrans.com) and take any bus that goes to Pacifica.
-Get off at the last stop in Pacifica called “Linda Mar Park & Ride” which is only a 1-2 minute walk from the beach.
-After exiting the bus, walk down Linda Mar Boulevard towards the ocean. Please note: public transportation is always available on Monday-Saturday, but often, on Sundays, there are system closures and route changes that make it impossible to get to Pacifica before 10am. If you are taking a 2-day class on Sat/Sun, we HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you speak to your classmates and instructors during Saturday’s class to secure a rideshare for Sunday.
Q: Are there any hotels in the area?
A: There are 3 hotels within walking distance of the class beach:

Q: I think I forgot to choose my wetsuit and or bootie size when registering (or chose incorrectly) – how can I fix this?
A: No big deal – we use these numbers as rough estimates. We always have LOTS of extra equipment at the beach.
