Although we’ve seen about 35 days of rain over the last 40 days, we really lucked out. It was gorgeous! Beautiful bright blue skys, warm temperatures, and the Redwood forests of the Santa Cruz Mountains were full of life. The group was truly inspiring – some with backpacking experience, others who had never been camping in their life – all came together and helped each other through the day as they learned about Shelter, Water, Fire, & Food. A big thank you out to all these young people for coming out today, pushing their comfort zones, and succeeding in so many amazing ways.
