Arrow Making Class

Making arrowheads is just the beginning. Take the skills you learned in the Flintknapping course to the next level as we delve in to the realm of arrows. Course topics include shaft harvesting and straightening, pitch and sinew work, fletching, and halfting. This is a unique opportunity to learn arrow construction from the few people left in North America that still hunt big game with primitive arrows.
*1-Day Workshop: $150
This class is offered on our private property in the Santa Cruz mountains and will run 1 full day. Taught by Adventure Out owner Cliff Hodges, this class will explore each step of arrow making so that you go home not only with a shooting, hunt-worthy arrow, but the skills and know-how to build your own arrows start-to-finish. All materials are included in your class fee. All major group/shared tools are provided, some inexpensive/disposable items such as sandpaper will be required for you to bring.

This program is booked on a private/semi-private basis only – we do not have public class dates available. Form your own group and contact us to set up a date.
Minimum Number Needed For Class: 5 People (to get $150 pricing – smaller group pricing available at increased rates per-person)

Clinics are held on our private teaching property in the Santa Cruz Mountains – 10 minutes from downtown Santa Cruz. Exact directions, maps, recommended packing lists, and other details will all be provided upon registration.

Your packing list:
We provide all the equipment to make your first arrow – but if you have taken our stone tools class and/or have stone points from elsewhere, you may bring your own points to build in to the arrow. Come prepared with clothing to spend a day in the outdoors, lunch, snacks, & water, and a notebook & pen to takes notes.
